The Yō Kind, from the Japanese Yōkai 妖怪, encompassing the strange, mysterious, otherworldly.

The Yō Kind is here to celebrate the timeless stories with you and your loved ones: Mythology, fairytales, monsters, and gods. We repeat wisdom across time and borders and languages and religions. We share the lessons humanity must learn over and over again, in the hopes that perhaps we can avoid some of the same mistakes by listening and learning.
By Heart
We share these stories in person. Not alone in the glow of a screen but sharing laughter, competing, touching, solving problems, together. We’ve been playing card games for over 1000 years.
By Hand
We play and we create by hand. In this ever-digitizing world, we find comfort, joy, truth and texture in traditional media: Printmaking, watercolor, ink, acrylic and oil paint, pencil, collage. More to come! The hand and medium moving across paper, canvas, wood, and fabric. We might do minimal editing and touching up in Photoshop before posting and printing, but the originals are available to see and hold and buy.

The Yo Kind は、神話、おとぎ話、怪物、神々といった、時代を超えて語り継がれてきた物語を、コミュニティとともに分かち合います。国境や言語、宗教を越えて繰り返されてきた叡智を受け取り、そして語り直します。人類が何度も学ばねばならなかった教訓を共有することで、耳を傾け、学び、同じ過ちを少しでも避けられることを願っています。
心
これらの物語を人と人とが直接向き合うかたちで共有します。画面の光の中で一人きりになるのではなく、笑い合い、競い合い、触れ合い、考え、共に時間を過ごすために。カードゲームは、1000年以上にわたって人々をつないできました。
手
投稿や印刷の前に、ソフトで最小限の調整を行うことはありますが、原画は実際に見て、触れて、購入できるものとして存在しています。
